LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock County inmate faces additional time behind bars now that a grand jury indicted him on an escape charge.  Investigators say Gilbert Macias, 36 slipped away while on work detail at south Loop 289, near Indiana Avenue on September 28th.

A resident near 67th Street and Hartford Avenue discovered his reflector vest in an alley, and called 911. That led to the lock down of several Lubbock schools in the area.

A K9 unit then found Macias hiding in a dumpster.  He remains jailed on a combined $60,000 bond.
