Perry Certifies Texas Budget

Governor Rick Perry put the finishing touches on the state budget Sunday. He signed the $117 billion, two year spending plan after stripping out more than $80 million.

Sunday is the deadline for Perry to take action on bills passed during the 2003 legislative regular session. He can veto, sign, or allow them to become law without his signature. The budget takes effect September 1st.
