Warming up to be a nice day

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We can expect plenty of sunshine across the South Plains Thursday.  After a chilly start in the 30s and 40s, temperatures warm into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees this afternoon.  Southerly winds increase to 10 to 15 MPH for the Lubbock area. Wind gusts may be a little higher towards Muleshoe, Littlefield, Springlake-Earth, Levelland and Morton.

 Clear skies continue tonight.  Temperatures remain cool with overnight lows in the lower to middle 40s areawide.  Light winds continue.

 Friday looks terrific with sunshine continuing.  Highs top out in the middle 80s with southwest winds increasing to 10 to 20 MPH.

 For those attending the Red Raiders Saturday match up with Oklahoma State at Jones AT&T Stadium, we can expect a kickoff temperature around 80 degrees with highs warming into the middle 80s during the afternoon.  Sunny skies are expected.  Southerly winds average 10 to 15 MPH.  Wear sunscreen and keep yourself hydrated during the game as turf temperatures on the field will feel even warmer.
