LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The Food and Drug Administration has sent warning letters to 8 companies about their over-the-counter chelation products. Chelation is usually done under a doctor's care, and is only approved for use in specific cases such as lead poisoning and iron overload.
Now the FDA is warning some companies that their over-the-counter chelation products violate federal law because they make what the FDA says are unproven claims of treating conditions like autism and macular degeneration. For more information, click on
