LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - You might have noticed Carrie Tollefson on the cover of Runner's World. The Olympic runner just had a baby 4 months ago. The magazine said Carrie continued to run or jog at least a mile and a half a day right up until 2 days before she delivered.
Is that really safe for the baby though? The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said it is ok to continue running through pregnancy.
Runner's World Senior Editor, Katie Neitz said that "most doctors now are saying it's safe and healthy, and they actually advise women to continue being active and continue running through their pregnancies."
Since pregnancy is sort of a marathon in itself, the American Congress of Obstetricians says women who want to continue an exercise regimen while pregnant should always consult their doctor first
