County One Step Closer To Building New Jail - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Lubbock County has taken additional steps toward the construction of a new jail. Monday County Commissioners approved the contract with the Architecture Firm, Rosser International. The price of the jail is now about $82 million, down from $83 million.

County Commissioner James Kitten says the new jail should be complete by late 2006. Though the actual groundbreaking is still about a year away.
