Man from Lubbock running for TX Governor as write-in

By James Clark email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Did you know a Lubbock native is running for Texas Governor?  Andy Barron is running as a write-in candidate.  Barron, an orthodontist and currently a resident of Temple, is a Texas Tech graduate.

He refers to his candidacy as a "campaign to save Texas."  His campaign TV ads prominently show a cross and his campaign slogan is similar to that of Barrack Obama but with one sharp contrast.  Instead of "Yes, we can" it is "Yes, we can through Christ."  He tells supporters that if he wins then it's God's will.  If not, that's also God's will.

Barron's endorsements include a few elected officials but mostly the endorsements are rank & file Texas voters. The first name on his list of endorsements is that of his wife Shawne.

Barron's website says "please ask the supervisors at the polling stations for specific instructions on write-in ballots"
