A group of Lubbock banks have joined forces to create a financial alternative for Lubbock's low income population.

The creation of High Plains Community Capital was announced on Tuesday . The company is designed to improve the quality of life for low income people and strengthen underdeveloped areas. High Plains Community Capital will offer non-traditional loans to create jobs and increase affordable housing.
