Representative Heflin invites citizen input on redistricting

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - State Representative Joe Heflin is inviting his constituents to attend a joint hearing of the House Committees on Redistricting and on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence scheduled in Abilene on Wednesday, October 27, beginning at noon. The redistricting process will affect how West Texas is represented for the next 10 years, both in Austin and in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Heflin says "it is difficult to overstate the importance of this meeting," and he encourages "West Texans to attend this meeting and to let their voices be heard by the people in Austin who will be making these very significant decisions for our area."

The meeting will take place in the Abilene Independent School District building at 241 Pine Street in downtown Abilene. The hearing will be in the Board Room, which can hold more than 200 people.
