Candlelight vigil honors 112 women killed by domestic violence

Posted: Updated:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Community members paused on Wednesday to remember the 112 women who lost their lives to domestic violence in the State of Texas last year.

The candle light vigil, held at Our Lady of Grace Church, is part of a series of events hosted by the Lubbock Women's Protective Services. "Part of a message is a message of hope because there is help out there and you can break the cycle and get away from abusive partner," said Roy Rios with Lubbock Women's Protective Services.

Rios says domestic violence touches all ages. The youngest victim last year was 13, the oldest 84.
