Hundreds turn out for South Plains Job Fair

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Hundreds of people took their employment search to the South Plains Job Fair on Wednesday.

Sixty five employers set up at the Civic Center handing out information about openings at their businesses. They have two fairs every year, once in the spring and again in the fall.

Chair of the Job Fair, Sam Harper, says uncertainty surrounding next year's economy brought some different numbers this year. "The employer turnout is somewhat lower," said Sam Harper. "Some of our employers that usually come are not hiring right now but we think our job seeker turnout will probably be as big or bigger than it was in April."
