Gov. Perry dicusses education with students

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Education has become a main focus in the Texas governor race.

GOP Gov. Rick Perry was joined in Dallas on Wednesday by Texas Education Commissioner Robert Scott to present the Milken National Educator Award to Rogelio Garcia of James B. Bonham Elementary School.

The award provides public recognition and financial rewards to exemplary elementary and secondary educators.

Perry and Democratic candidate Bill White crisscrossed Texas during early voting for the November 2nd elections.
