Frenship ISD is walking for the cure during football game

Posted: Updated:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Frenship ISD is one of the first high schools in the state of Texas to hold a "Walk Against Breast Cancer" event during a football game. This is a unique opportunity for Frenship and Susan G. Komen to promote breast cancer awareness and hopefully raise even more money to help fight this ongoing battle.

The game versus Amarillo Palo Duro is on Friday night at the Tiger Stadium. Volunteers will walk for an allotted period of time on one of four treadmills set up behind the north end zone of Tiger Stadium. Walking begins at 7:05 p.m. and continues until the end of the game. These volunteers also secured financial donors to help reach the financial goals during the campaign.

Frenship I.S.D. is also selling commemorative shirts Friday night in honor of the event. One hundred percent of the profits will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

For more information concerning Friday's "Walk Against Breast Cancer" event, please contact Chad Smith, Frenship I.S.D. Coordinator of Travel and coordinator of Friday's event, at (806) 866-0963 or chadsmith@frenship.us.
