LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Governor Rick Perry and Democratic challenger Bill White hit the road Thursday. They want to gain as much support as they can, with voters already headed to the polls for early voting, and the election less than two weeks away.
White spoke in Lubbock at 5:30 p.m. this evening from the Lubbock County Courthouse. He also made stops in El Paso and Midland today.
Perry made appearances in Beaumont, Bryan and Conroe today.
Meanwhile, White took another jab at Perry's rental home outside of Austin. White says he'll live in a mobile home if elected Governor. That is because the Governor's mansion is still undergoing renovations after someone set the historic home on fire in June of 2008.
Perry's rental home is costing taxpayers $10,000 a month. The Governor has said the home is "as cheap a place as they could find" given the security demands as Governor. Perry says he will move if lawmakers want him to.
White currently lives in a home appraised at $2.1 million.
