LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock woman is indicted for social security fraud. The indictment says Theresa Richter took out benefits on behalf of herself in 1993 and on behalf of her son starting in 1996. Until 2001, there was no problem. But then, according to the indictment, Richter's mother passed away and left her a trust that paid $2,000 per month. The indictment says Richter did not report the income. Richter is also charged with a second count; Theft of Government Funds.
