Child Protective Services new "Magical" visitation rooms

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Child Protective Services new "Magical" visitation rooms. Local dignitaries, members of child welfare community and business leaders will be in attendance at the ceremony to get their first glimpse of the new spaces.

What was once a series of plain, boring family visitation rooms, are now being transported to a plethora of motifs such as a pirate realm, magical kingdom, a teen hangout, and even a lighted stage where magic just seems to happen.

"This whole process has been so unique, and what we've come up with is very, very special," said Camile Gilliam, Regional Director for CPS." I think this is something that is going to be huge for the families that we serve."

Child Protective Services will formally inaugurate the rooms October 26, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Briercroft offices, 5402 Avenue Q number 7 Briercroft Office Park.
