LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A cholera outbreak continues to claim lives in Haiti. The death total has jumped to nearly 300, and more than 4,000 cases have been confirmed.
Health experts say there is likely no quick fix to this problem, and in this case they expect that this will not go away in the next few weeks.
Crews in Haiti are working around the clock to treat people, and educate them about handling food, water and waste. So far, no cases have been confirmed in neighboring Dominican Republic, but crews are there in case it spreads.
