Governor Rick Perry in Lubbock Friday afternoon

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - With election day just days away, candidates are working to get those last minute votes.

Texas Governor Rick Perry met a crowd of supporters Friday afternoon at Daybreak Coffee. He gave his stance on key issues and why voters should elect him for a third term.  "Everywhere we traveled across the state, we've had crowds like this," said Perry. "They're big, they're energetic, they're passionate and wanting to send a message to Washington D.C. and elect small government, fiscal conservatives."

"I think its absolutely amazing that he came out to West Texas," said Jeff Morris with Texas Tech Young Conservatives. "This is kind of a rare visit for someone of his stature..especially days before the election."

Democratic Challenger Bill White was also doing last minute campaigning Friday in San Antonio.
