LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock police investigate a Saturday morning stabbing that is described as a case of self defense.

A police report says the suspect entered a residence in the 2600 block of Oak Avenue about 1:30 AM,  "Without their permission with the intent to commit an assault."  The report goes on to say that the would-be burglary victim, Jonas Olivo, 30, stabbed the suspect "multiple times with a knife in defense." The suspect was taken by EMS to Covenant Medical Center.  Police have not released the suspect's name and so we are not able to get the suspect's condition from Covenant.
