Lubbock intersection the site of two pedestrian accidents

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - One central Lubbock intersection was the site of two pedestrian accidents over the weekend, with one being fatal.

Police say 54-year-old Albert Gonzales ran out in front of a truck around 9 p.m. Friday night near 27th and Avenue Q. He was taken to University Medical Center where he later died. The driver of the truck, 33-year-old Joseph Flores, was not charged in the accident.

On Sunday night, near the same intersection, police say a white car hit a pedestrian around 7:30 p.m.  The victim was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries. The names of the victim in the driver have not been released.
