Tragic End to the Search For Missing Vernon Man

The search for a 74-year old Vernon man suffering from Alzheimer's disease is over. Tragically though, this story does not have a happy ending.

Theodore Jerome Byrd was last seen on June 11th, as he headed out for a cup of coffee. He never returned home. According to family members, Byrd's body was found Monday morning inside his vehicle, parked in a field near Clarendon. Clarendon is about 117 miles from Vernon.

The cause of Byrd's death is not known at this time.
