New Eatery Opens in Downtown Lubbock

In front of City Hall, Tuesday, City Councilman T.J. Patterson welcomed Lubbock's newest cafe.

The ribbon cutting ceremony marked the first day of business for the Street Cafe. The Street Cafe is part of the teen publications new work program that helps teens and young adults in need of a job. There is a variety of choices on the menu, including everything from Frito pies to shaved ice, but Taylor Rudd who helps coordinate the food stand says he recommends the hot dogs, "They're good hot dogs. Good quality product."

The Street Cafe will be at a different location each day in the downtown area.
