Farmer's To Resume Writing Home Insurance Policies

Farmer's Insurance Group plans to resume writing new homeowners insurance policies, but only on a limited basis.

Farmers was embroiled in a dispute with the state last year over how it priced its policies. The company has not written homeowners insurance policies for new customers since August. Farmers settled its dispute with the state in November. Starting Monday, Farmers will allow its approximately two-thousand Texas agents to write up to ten new homeowners insurance policies.

The company said the policies can be written only for households who have auto insurance through Farmers.
