Lorenzo goes green with solar panels

LORENZO, TX (KCBD) -

LORENZO, TX (KCBD) - The city of Lorenzo is going green.  Thursday, R.D. Electric installed solar panels on Lorenzo's city office building.

The panels should cut their electric bill by about a third, and the project should pay for itself in about ten years.  "If they work out the way we're hoping they will, we might start putting some money back and put some on other buildings," Lorenzo City Administrator James Lively said.

The panels were paid for with a state grant.
