Why is it microwaves are so hard to clean? Could it be because of the dried up, nasty food stuck to the walls? Well, now there may be an Easy-Off solution, using heat-activated microwave wipes that pop!
It's a new product from the makers of Easy-Off. We're going to do this test inside the microwave at our breakroom inside NewsChannel 11. But if you take a look inside the microwave it happens to be really clean which is unusual for a breakroom microwave. So, we're going to dirty it up ourselves. I have a little Chef Boyardee ravioli. That should do the trick.
We cook the ravioli without the lid. We'll put it in here for five minutes. That should make a big mess.
Five minutes later..."That made a mess!!" The stains were pretty well set. Now it's time to clean.
The instructions said to stick the packet in the microwave with the seal side facing up. And we put it in there for one minute on high. The special cleansers will release when the bag pops and it popped halfway through.
After the one minute of cooking time, the instructions said to let it sit for three minutes to cool. When it was ready, I removed the towel from the package and it was very warm.
Then I started cleaning. I was cleaning the top of the microwave, on the bottom, on the sides, in the cracks. After four minutes, I was done. No more of that dried on stuck on food. Not bad! The microwave was squeaky clean. I think the Easy-Off is an easy call. It works!
