A routine traffic stop Wednesday night, ended with a drug bust of 100 grams of meth worth $12,000. Just after 10:30pm, Lubbock Police pulled over a vehicle at 19th & Avenue Y. What they discovered, was that the vehicle was being used as a meth lab.
The two occupants of the vehicle, 41-year-old Albert Deatherage and 46-year-old Colleen Vestal were both arrested. They face first degree felony charges which is 5 to 99 years or life in jail and up to a $10,000 fine.
Deathridge and Vestal were within a thousand feet of the Texas Tech campus when they were pulled over, which is considered a drug free zone. That could add to their jail time by up to 10 years.
