Hale Center Celebrates Independence Day

4th on Broadway is just one of many celebrations on the South Plains. Hale Center residents tapped to the beat of the music in an annual fiddle contest and there was plenty of food and snow cones to help beat the heat.

Proceeds from Friday's events benefit the entire community. "Its basically fund raisers for our football team, our senior citizens, our fire department adn this is what they use for the rest of the year," said Susan Ward, Hale Center resident.

There will be a fireworks display in the Hale Center area at sundown.
