MORTON, TX (KCBD) - Faculty and students of Morton I.S.D. are mourning the death of their high school boys' basketball coach Trip Robison.
Robison, 31, was the coach in Morton for the past two years. He coached the varsity boys basketball team, helped coach junior high basketball and was also a football coach.
The Cochran County Sheriff's Office says Coach Robison was found dead in his home Saturday night. According to the Morton ISD Superintendent Vicki Rice, Robison died of natural causes. Services for Robison will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the school gymnasium. He will be buried at Resthaven in Lubbock.
Monday and Tuesday basketball games have been canceled. The varsity basketball team met with counselors on Sunday and the junior high team met with counselors Monday morning. Those counselors will also be available for others who need them.
Rice also tells KCBD NewsChannel 11 the Morton Varsity basketball team will be pallbearers at Coach Robison's funeral.
