Trooper Jonathan McDonald funeral arrangements announced

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Funeral arrangements have been set for the DPS Trooper that was killed in an accident Monday evening near Post when he was responding to another car accident.

Visitation is Thursday, November 18th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 19th and Frankford Avenue in Lubbock. The funeral service is Friday, 2 PM, at the First Baptist Church in the 2200 block of Broadway. The burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery immediately following the service.

Trooper McDonald, 28, joined the DPS in January 2008 and was stationed in Post. He is survived by his wife and a six-month-old daughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to a scholarship fund established for Kacyn Shae McDonald at Citizens Bank, 210 N Broadway St, Post, Texas 79356, (806) 495-3545.

Donations may also be made to the 100 Club of Houston Survivor's Fund, which supports the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
