POST, TX (KCBD) - Memorial services for a man who was killed in a helicopter crash have been scheduled. The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Post for 66 year old Paul Beach.
The helicopter went down around 3:30 p.m. Sunday about 13 miles east of Post on Beach Ranch, just off of highway 380.
DPS Corporal John Gonzalez says the crash happened when the helicopter was lifting off at the Beach Family Ranch. When First Responders arrived, Paul Beach had already died. His passenger, 53-year-old Michael Chenoweth was taken to University Medical Center where he is still in critical condition..
According to Garza County officials, Chenoweth's 13-year-old son saw the crash and made the 911 call. Investigators were back on the scene Monday morning to find out why the helicopter crashed.
