TTU School of Law Co-hosts sunset review town hall meeting with TCEQ

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) will host a sunset review town hall meeting, co-hosted by student organizations from Texas Tech School of Law including the Environmental Law Student Association, Wind Energy Law Society, Energy Law Interest Group, Texas Tech Administrative Law Journal and Alliance for Clean Texas.

The meeting was at 11 a.m. Friday was open to the public. Key decision-makers and issue experts will discuss the Sunset Advisory Commission's review of the state's environmental and energy agencies. The sunset review process is a once in a decade evaluation in Texas that determines an agency's effectiveness and necessity. Residents will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue on their experiences with the TCEQ.

Presenters will speak on environmental issues specific to West Texas. The speakers will include Texas House Representative Warren Chisum, member of the Environmental Regulation Committee; Randy J. Ammons, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality; Rod Johnson, Austin-based environmental attorney; and Ken Rainwater, director of Texas Tech University Water Resource Center.
