First Lady of Texas Makes Stop In Lubbock

Young women today have more opportunities than ever. Still, women represent only 46% of the workforce. Texas First Lady, Anita Perry, made a stop in Lubbock Wednesday to encourage women to pursue the careers of their dreams, even those in male dominated fields.

The Texas Conference for Women is an annual event hosted by Governor Rick Perry and the First Lady. It provides educational and inspirational seminars from women at the top of their field. "As a woman, I think it's important that we project ourselves as leaders," said Anita Perry, First Lady of Texas.

The 4th Annual Texas Conference for Women will take place at the Austin Convention Center, on October 1st of this year.
