LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Volunteers from First Baptist Church, Full Armor Church, and Community Heights Church joined members of the Texas Tech football team today for "Hope for Lubbock." The event included a church service and a dinner for local families in need.

Reverend Bobby Dagnel, the pastor of First Baptist Church says,"It just offers people a sense of hope that there are people who care."

Texas Tech football players served food, greeted the crowd and signed autographs. Tech quarterback Taylor Potts says "We saw an opportunity to be able to serve people in our community and it was important to us."

To ensure struggling families will have a meal on Thanksgiving Day, organizers sent each of them home with a basket full of food.
