Entire Lubbock downtown up for rezoning

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock's entire downtown is about to be rezoned as part a plan to revitalize the central business districts.  On Thursday City Council is expected to approve three of six proposed business zones.  The new zones will not interfere with current businesses downtown but they will apply to all new developments in the future. 

Quoting from public records, "This Master Zone Case will not impact current businesses or property owners.  Their uses will continue to be treated as legal non-conforming ("grandfathered"), and can be sold with the non-conforming status."
