LUBBOCK, TexasTexas Tech placed two football student-athletes on the 2010 All-Big 12 second team and nine others on the honorable mention list that was announced earlier today by the conference office.

Junior offensive lineman Lonnie Edwards and senior defensive lineman Colby Whitlock picked up second team honors and were followed by Baron Batch, Bront Bird, Cody Davis, Brian Duncan, DJ Johnson, Lyle Leong, Detron Lewis, Eric Stephens and LaAdrian Waddle on the honorable mention list.

Senior Baron Batch earned honorable mention honors for the third-straight year while senior linebacker Bront Bird and sophomore defensive back Cody Davis picked up honorable mention accolades for the second consecutive year.  Whitlock had been a two-time honorable selection prior to moving up to the second team following a stellar senior campaign.

These talented players helped propel the Red Raiders to a 7-5 regular-season as Texas Tech now awaits its bowl destination that is expected to be announced on Sunday afternoon.  The Red Raiders are bowl eligible for a Big 12 record 18th consecutive season and will be making their 11th straight bowl appearance.
