Residents from Louisiana to South Texas and Mexico are awaiting the arrival of Tropical Storm Claudette.
It's expected to hit land Tuesday night. Residents in low lying areas are evacuating while others spent the day boarding their homes.
Meanwhile, a team of Texas Tech Researchers left for the coast Monday hoping to be at the center of the storm when it arrives. The team is made up of five Wind Engineering students and their professor. The group is hoping to use this portable tower to collect wind speed information.
