LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The windy and dry conditions have prompted authorities in Hockley County to issue a burn ban, which will last for 90 days. Officials there say it is too dry to take the risk of burning anything outdoors.
According to information as of December 7th from the Texas Forest Service, Hockley County now joins Cochran, Terry, and Garza counties on the South Plains for adopting a burn ban.
