More charges filed against man who escaped psychiatric facility

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A man who escaped from an east Lubbock psychiatric facility in October now faces more charges.

William Jackson, 24, was originally arrested and charged with burglary in September. He was transferred on September 3rd, by court order, to the Sunrise Canyon Mental Health Facility in Lubbock. He escaped from the facility on October 25th and was captured on October 31st after police were called to a residential burglary.

According to a police statement, the homeowners came home to find a man crawling out of their bedroom window. One resident tried to chase Jackson down the alley. Police Officers found him hiding in a dumpster.

He faces multiple charges from aggravated assault and burglary to escape and retaliation.
