Plainview school campuses on heightened alert after visit from Somalian men

Posted: Updated:

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - In Plainview, school leaders advised campuses to be on heightened alert after two unannounced men walked onto at least one campus.

Police Chief Will Mull tells KCBD NewsChannel 11 they spoke with the men, who he says are from Somalia. Mull says they went into Highland Elementary and were outside other schools on Wednesday. He says the men were asking about junior colleges or trade schools.

Mull says after speaking with them, they did not appear to be any threat, but says he would rather schools be cautious. Mull tells us they have not had any further reports about the men visiting the campuses.
