A SWAT stand off in central Lubbock forced a neighborhood evacuation Wednesday night. It happened on the 2800 block of 27th St. Wednesday night around 10:00.
Police say the man was drunk, had a fight with his wife, then held a pistol to his head. Police negotiators tried to get the man to surrender, but the man never did.
SWAT Commander Chief Dale Holton says the man did not commit a crime. So, the SWAT team backed off and left him alone. Police had a reason to believe the gun may not have been loaded.
