IDALOU, TX (KCBD) – One week ago, there were three area high school football teams in the state semi-finals that were looking for a chance to play for a State Championship. However, the Idalou Wildcats is now the only team in the running for the State Championship Title.
Springlake-Earth fell to Windthorst on Friday night, 41 to 18. Then Saturday, the Littlefield Wildcats battled with #5 ranked Daingerfield, but came up short 18-9.
Idalou will be making their first ever appearance in the State Title game and will have a big test against #5 Lexington. The Wildcats used their impressive defense to shut down Omaha Pewitt in the State Semi-Finals, 17-0, and now turn their sights on Lexington, who took out #1 Refugio.
The game will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Mansfield at Vernon Newsom Stadium.
Advance Ticket Sales are available Wednesday, December 15th thru Friday, December 17th in the Idalou High School Office. Ticket Sales will close at noon on Friday. Adult Tickets $7 and Students $4, NO PASSES will be honored.
