Morton football coach turns himself in after arrest warrant was issued

MORTON, TX (KCBD) - A Morton football coach accused of two counts of injury to a child turned himself in Monday morning and posted two $5,000 bonds.
Morton ISD Athletic Director and football coach Don Rives was charged with two felony counts of injury to a child after being accused of physically assaulting two students.
Coach Rives was put on administrative leave Monday, December 6th. A Justice of the Peace signed the arrest warrant late Friday. If convicted, Rives could face 2 to 10 years in jail per count. Rives is currently out on bond until his trial.
Two students both came forward to KCBD NewsChannel 11 to describe how they say Rives physically assaulted them. The Sheriff says cell phone is video is part of the evidence that he turned over to the District Attorney.
