LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance announced Monday nearly 100 new jobs will be coming to Lubbock, with annual salaries over $4 million and over $25 million in capital investment.

A L.E.D.A. official said "the companies that are growing here in Lubbock, that list of companies continues to expand. When you're 12 days away from Christmas to have an announcement like the one we're having today, it's a very exciting Christmas present to the entire city of Lubbock."

A majority of those positions will come from a partnership with X-Fab and Cymbet Corporation to make the Ener-chip, a small chip that stores energy, like a battery. The collaboration will create 77 new jobs.

Also, B and J welding supply will build their headquarters at 50th and Martin Luther King Boulevard which will create 14 new jobs. Mo Jack LLC, the company building two new Jack in the Box restaurants in Lubbock will base their headquarters in Lubbock, creating six new positions.
