It's Time for Head Start/Pre-K Registration

If your child needs a head start on his or her education, now is the time to do so. You can register your child for either the Head Start or Pre-K programs with the Lubbock Independent School district. Children must be at least three years old on or before September 1st.

Registration times and places are as follows.

  • July 22,23, 24: Martin Early Learning Center, 3313 East Broadway, 8 a.m-3 p.m.
  • July 25, 28,29: Mahon Early Learning Center, 2010 Cornell, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • July 30, 31 & August 1 : Ballenger Early Learning Center, 1110 40th, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Parents/Guardians must bring the following to registration:

  • Proof of Household Income-check stubs, W-2, employer letter, child support
  • Address Verification-Current Utility bill, rental agreement, rent receipt with address, Cox Cable bill, Phone bills and termination notices will not suffice.
  • Child's Original Birth Certificate from the Health Department-Cost is $11. No Hospital Copies
  • Child's Social Security Card
  • Child's Shot Record with 4-year booster
  • Government Assistance Program Letters or information such as letters from TANF, Social Security, Medicaid and Food Stamps
