A house that burned down overnight Monday was set to be demolished by the City of Lubbock. Fire fighters arrived at a home on the 300 block of 42nd St. around 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
A propane tank exploded shortly thereafter. Fire fighters were able to put out the flames, but the house was a total loss.
Lieutenant Mark Ethridge with the Lubbock Fire Department says the house had been vacant since 1995 when another fire struck. The house was soon to be torn down. Ethridge says it was a set fire and it is under investigation.
