Idalou Wildcats on their way to play in the Class 2-A Division II State Football Championship

IDALOU, TX (KCBD) - The Idalou Wildcats are on their way to play in their first ever State Championship game.

The Wildcats will play the Lexington Eagles Saturday for the Class 2-A Division II State Football Championship. Idalou residents gave them a big send off a 8 a.m. Friday morning.

A little more than a week ago, Coach Johnny Taylor asked his players for a Christmas gift. "All I want is two things for Christmas. I want a victory today, which was last Saturday. They did that. And I want a victory this coming Saturday. So, after the game I told 'em that's one down and one more present to go."

The Idalou Wildcats will play the Lexington Eagles at 4 p.m. Saturday in Mansfield. KCBD NewsChannel 11 will be in Mansfield to bring you all the highlights on the news at 6 and 10.
