Cotton Center Elk wins Mascot Mania

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – After 10 weeks and over 350,000 votes at kcbd.com, the Cotton Center Elk beat out 65 other mascots to win Mascot Mania. Cotton center wins the $3,000 Grand Prize and Giant Championship Trophy. Senior Marilu Varela, who brings Eli the Elk to life, wins $2,000 in scholarship money to South Plains College.

Cotton center picked up 46% of the vote and beat out 2nd place Abernathy by over 8,000 votes. Hero the Antelope Brooke Daily picked up $1,500 in scholarship money to SPC getting 39% of the vote to finish runner-up.

Third place went to the Lubbock Christian Eagle with 10%.  Shelley Stevenson earns $1,500 in scholarship money to SPC.

And finishing 4th out of 66 mascots was the Morton Indian with 5%. Victoria Ringener gets a $100 gift card to Sonic.

Pete Christy will visit Cotton Center for the Mascot Mania Championship presentation in January.

Next year it's the Cheer Championship as we spotlight cheerleaders.
