LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock and most other counties in Texas are officially declared as a state of disaster. Governor Rick Perry made the proclamation Tuesday for 244 Texas counties. His proclamation says that most Texas counties are "threatened by extreme fire hazard."
Lubbock County is not currently under a burn, but that might change in January. Most of its neighbors on the South Plains are under a ban.
