Lubbock emergency officials have seen a number of car pedestrian accidents this summer, and many of them children. That's why the City of Lubbock has set up a Summer Safety Camp to teach youngsters about traffic safety.
Safety City is located at 46th and Avenue U, just inside Clapp Park. Here, kids can learn bicycle and pedestrian safety, in a town - just their size! Lubbock Police will also provide fingerprinting for the kids, and vision screening.
The Summer Safety takes place next Monday through Friday from 1-5 p.m.. All 1st through 6th graders are welcome. The fee is $50 for the week or $10 per day.
