Firefighters battle Christmas blaze, no injuries reported

Lubbock, TX (KCBD) -  Lubbock firefighters spent Christmas night battling a blaze near 61st and Avenue L. An investigator with the Lubbock County Fire Marshal's office was called out to the scene to determine exactly what happened.

Firefighters on the scene say the shed does not have a utility connection so they don't suspect the blaze to be an electrical fire. Crews doused the flames and smoke, keeping the blaze from reaching the home on the same property.

Firefighters do not believe anyone was inside the shed at the time of the fire, but evacuated the folks inside the home for precaution. When they got to the scene, firefighters say a neighbor was trying to put the flames out with a hose and fire extinguisher. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
